RES wants to become a forum for debating, clarifying, evaluating and informing the knowledge synthesis regarding complex problems that come from dynamic relations, at different scales of space and time, between biodiversity components, ecosystem infrastructure of natural capital or among “people” and socio-economic components, on one hand, and biodiversity components and   natural capital, on the other hand, in socio-economic ecological complexes.

RES is and must develop, further on, its capacity and operational means as main scientific forum for: i) communication, debate and evaluation of scientific debates; ii) identifying gaps and uncertainties in the knowledge of structure, functions and dynamics of bio and eco-diversity components, climatic system and socio-ecological system / socio-natural ecological complexes; iii) identifying gaps and limits in the promotion and application of ecosystem and applied management; iv) scientific basis of strategies and politics of sustainable development of socio-ecological complexes in conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and natural capital and of adaptation to climate change and v) for identifying, formulation and promotion of scientific problems packages or useful means categories that must be included in research, development and innovation programs at national and EU level.

RES proposes developing itself the capacity to evaluate, promote and act in the way of diversification and growth of efficiency to means and ways of Communicating and Informing about knowledge, experience and practical expertise in the field of theoretic and applied Ecology, and forming of expert human resource and public education.

RES must become in short time the main vector of promoting and transferring the scientific products and practice expertise, from multi and transdisciplinary domains of Ecology and Sustainable development, in the decisional cycles and international scientific flux.

RES proposes developing, testing, validation and application of an own system of: i) perfecting and protecting of professional expertise and ii) evaluating and attestation of its members, with the purpose of growing or maintaining its credibility and performance on the labor market.
